How to download your printables
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
Once you’ve placed your order with Etsy, you will get a notification telling you your purchase was successful and your downloads will be available as soon as your payment is confirmed.
This process is normally quick–it usually only takes a few seconds–but it is possible for it to take minutes or even hours. But assuming everything is right with your payment information, you will soon be able to access your files in one of three ways.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
1) Click the “View downloads” button on your order confirmation screen.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-1.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-1″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
This screen pops up the second you place your order. Clicking the “View downloads” button will take you to the download screen.
The only downside to using this method is if you go too soon, the option to download your files may be greyed out. This happens if your payment hasn’t fully processed yet.
If this happens, you can just wait a bit and refresh the page to see when your payment has gone through.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
2) Check your email
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
As soon as your payment has processed and order is available, Etsy will send you an email with a subject like “Download Your Etsy Purchase from (Shop Name)“.
Make sure to check the email you signed up for your Etsy account with.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-2.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-2″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
That email will have a button inside of it that says something like “View your files on Etsy” and clicking it will take you to the page where you can download your files.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-3.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-3″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
Once you’re on the Downloads page, you can click the Download button beside the order you would like to save.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-4.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-4″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
2) Navigate your way there from your “My Account” menu on Etsy
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
While you’re logged into your Etsy account, you can click the “My Account” button on the top right of your screen.
You will see the option to go to the “Purchases and Reviews” page. Click it and you’re there!
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-5.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-5″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” width=”35%” module_alignment=”center” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
From the Purchases and Reviews page, you will see a button marked “Download Files”. Clicking this should allow you to download your files.
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://papermoonprintables.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/etsy-order-6.jpg” title_text=”etsy-order-6″ _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
I’ve downloaded my printables, but I can’t find them!
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
Some web browsers give you the option to save your files to a specific location, while others automatically save them to a special Downloads folder.
Generally speaking, there will be an icon on your web browser after you successfully download your file, and you’ll be able to click it to go to your Downloads folder.
For more specific instrutions, I recommend these links:
Find your downloads in Google Chrome
Find your downloads in Safari
Find your downloads in Microsoft Edge
Find your downloads in Firefox
Once you find your downloads, I highly recommend making a new folder for them on your desktop or somewhere you’ll be able to find them. Then you can just drag them in from the Downloads folder.

How do I unzip my printable files?
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.2″ _module_preset=”default” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]
How you unzip your files will change based on if you’re using a PC or a Mac.
On a PC, you can right click on the .zip file and select “Extract Here”.
On a Mac, double clicking the .zip file should start the process of unzipping them.

Now you’re to the fun part of printables… you get to print them!
Whether or not you use your home printer or a professional print shop will depend on many factors. Here’s some pros and cons for both options:
It’s best to print on your home printer if…
- You have a nice quality printer with plenty of ink
- You either don’t mind if the printable is on flimsy “standard” printer paper, or you have purchased specialty printer papers like cardstock or sticker paper
- You’re in a hurry and need to print fast
- You prefer the DIY touch of printing out and cutting out your own printables
- You want to save money and not have to worry about physically going to a local print shop or paying shipping fees from an online printing service
It’s best to print from a professional print shop if…
- You don’t have a printer of your own, or only have one that prints in poor quality
- You don’t mind spending a bit extra to buy the print from a professional print shop
- You want a more durable, higher-quality product–many print shops have a variety of printing options you just can’t do at home, such as printing on canvas or with special finishes
- You have a larger scale order and want to save time having someone else do the printing and cutting
If home printing is best for you, I recommend trying to use PDFs to print in wherever possible. I provide an 8.5×11 PDF of all my files, but some printable sellers only provide one file format, such as JPGs. Fortunately, you should be able to open any file by simply double clicking it and then selecting “Print” under the File menu of most programs.
If you want to use a print shop, most of them prefer high-quality PNGs or JPGs. All you need to do is upload your files and then select any relevant options.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy your printables!
